TERMS & CONDITIONS
Eligibility Criteria
1. The competition is open to citizens of India (including Non Resident Indians) only.
2. Employees of Infomedia18 Ltd, all sponsors, partners or their families do not qualify for the competition.
3. There is no entry fee associated with any of the three awards: Better Photography Photographer of the Year 2009, Young Photographer of the Year 2009, Wedding Photographer of the Year 2009.
4. Entrants are allowed to participate in multiple themes with a maximum of four entries per theme.
 
Legal Restrictions
1. The entrant must be the sole creator of his / her images and must also own the copyrights and rights to reproduction of all pictures entered into the contest. It is the legal responsibility of the entrant, and not Infomedia18 Ltd, to ensure that publication of the photographs by Better Photography raises no legal claims.
2. Better Photography will appoint a judging panel to determine the winning images and honourable mentions in each category, based on a final shortlist.
3. The decision of the judges will be final. Better Photography and Infomedia18 Ltd will not enter into any correspondence regarding the judging or organisation of the competition.
 
Rights of Usage
1. By entering your images into the competition, entrants agree to allow Better Photography to publish their photographs in print or electronic form, in a future issue or issues of Better Photography, for editorial and promotional purposes, without payment, for a period of three years from the date of declaration of results.
2. The images will be reproduced with due credit to the photographers
3. The ownership and copyrights of images shot during the face-off contest will rest with Infomedia18 Ltd.
 
Judging and Results
1. Entries will be judged on the basis of interpreting and expressing the theme, along with the technical and aesthetic quality of the photograph.
2. Award nominees will be announced in the January 2010 issue of Better Photography. Final winners will be showcased in the February 2010 issue.
3. Entrants may be contacted for a high-resolution JPEG or RAW file of their image and other details such as proof of age, for potential shortlisting purposes during the competition. Failure to produce such details or a high-resolution file within 5 days will eliminate an entrant from the shortlisting process.
4. The 8 first prize winners of each theme from the Senior category will compete for the title of Better Photography Photographer of the Year 2009 through a face-off contest.
5. The Better Photography Young Photographer of the Year 2009 will be chosen by a jury from among the 8 first prize winners of each theme.
